Many voices. Working together. With purpose.
Trustees’ Week is a time for us to celebrate the achievements of nearly one million trustees across the UK. The 2023 theme is many voices, working together, with purpose.
Charities make a huge and positive impact on society and are dedicated to an enormous variety of good causes. This year we celebrate the individual talents, viewpoints and experiences each trustee brings to their board and their collective decision making and how diversity can help make a charity stronger. We also highlight the wealth of guidance and support that charities can draw on, to survive and thrive.
We would like to take this opportunity to specifically thank and acknowledge our own wonderful Trustees. We are proud to have a diverse Board of passionate and committed people and we celebrate the fact that they all have different skills and experiences, all with different backgrounds and characteristics and all with different personal motivations for becoming a Trustee.
Why become a Trustee?
Being a trustee can be very rewarding. As a trustee you have the chance to support and shape the work and strategic direction of an organisation, and you can make a significant difference to a cause that matters to you, enabling you to get involved in a community or find out more about the not-for-profit sector. It also offers the opportunity for professional development, for you to apply your unique skills and experience while learning from others.
Our Chair of Trustees, Mark Lawrie told us
“I became a Trustee because I’ve worked in charities for a long time and I really wanted to give my time on the other side of the fence and get involved in sport for a cause I care about”
Our incredible trustees bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion to our cause. Head across to our Instagram and LinkedIn pages to learn more about our trustees as we uncover the range of motivations behind their commitment to Personal Best Foundation.
Interested in becoming a Trustee?
Good news, we have a vacancy!
We're looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our esteemed Board.
This is an exciting opportunity to join us in the early stages of our journey. The successful candidate will be integral to our development and influential in its future success. As a Trustee you must be fully committed to the vision and mission of Personal Best Foundation and be willing to devote the necessary time and effort to the role and becoming part of an impactful team.
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who have senior level experience in either:
- Income generation – engaging and influencing funders, developing fundraising strategies, and/or implementing creative fundraising campaigns. Someone who can use previous experiences, knowledge and connections in an advisory capacity; or
- Public relations and/or storytelling – Someone who can advise on how best to position the charity and can help us to build a credible, trusted and recognised ‘sport for development’ charity brand.
